Donald Trump — a King Xerxes for Modern Times

There has been much discussion and article publication surrounding Trump and his administration not meeting the moment of our current discontent — the novel coronavirus pandemic. Or the way I like to put it: “They came. They saw. They ran the hell away.”

Further along in my essay, I will compare what Trump is doing (okay, ISN’T doing) with respect to the handling of the virus, along with his “leadership” (everything seems to have to be italicized and demarcated by quotes when it comes to Trump) to that of Xerxes, (very) late of the kingdom of Persia…
