My Guess On Who Is Going To Fight Our “Forever Wars” Going Forward
When I was over in Vietnam in the last two years of the “conflict,” it was because I had decided to go to one of the four U.S. Military Academies in lieu of taking a chance that I would be drafted. After all, in 1968 after the Tet Offensive, estimates of our “military footprint” (to use a term from today’s “forever wars”) ranged from one million to 1.5 million combatants.
