Yeah, Joe's in the "lead" - whatever that means for a series of polls of where, on average, 1007 registered voters each let someone they don't know or care about in on their likely voting choice. I don't see it. I don't know how one "leads a race" in a poll, just like I don't know how a horse "leads" in pre-race betting. The "race" must be won first.

I'm a native Delawarean, although I haven't actually lived there for 50 years. But I say that because I have followed Biden since the late '60's, and throughout his entire career. The guy is decent, likeable and all that, but he invariably does or says something that brings the machinery of whatever he's doing - campaign, legislative initiative, etc. - to a grinding halt.

And his decisions are not even remotely at the top of the class. Where the man shines is in the back rooms of the Senate, twisting arms and gaining compromises. He's Ted Kennedy Lite, but without the womanizing.

In a lot of ways, he was a better VP under Obama than Obama was POTUS. He's a "project guy." Give him something to do and he'll get it done. But put him in charge of other "project guys/gals" and it could be another story.

I hope he wins in the worst way, but in Biden World, there are still 22 days to eff up, and that'll feel like a lifetime.
